Some days I get so frustrated because I feel like my son is never going to have a name. Sometimes I feel like his name is going to be bachcha (bengali for baby)for the rest of his life...
Dh wanted to wait until we knew if it was a boy or a girl because he didn't want to look for so many names. I gave in so we waited. Finally during week 21 we found out that it was a boy. So the name search began. I still looked but kept going back to my original list. On my list there was only one name that dh and I both agreed to. We also agreed that for a middle name we would use dh's father's name. We then decided that I would ask my MIL her opinion on the name we had chosen. We let it go for 2 weeks and then started asking about it. She said that the following week at the Eid party they were going to have a family meeting and talk about it amongst all the relatives. So, I waited another week... Well, the following week we called and she told us that they had talked about it but had not reached a decision yet but for sure by next week they would. I was so excited to find out that night and when there was still no name I just cried. Dh thought I was being silly and even told his mom that I was crying because bachcha didn't have a name yet. She told me don't worry for sure next week. Well, I waited this week. They all agree that it is a great name they like it because it is different from what everyone else has and they agreed that we need some new names. The only thing is that she wants us to double check the meaning of the name.
The meaning is a very big deal for us. We want the name to have a great meaning. When I found the name online it said that it meant "Wise" and also that it was a religiously important name. When I googled it everything that came up was Japanese. In Japanese it means mountain and there was a guy who built some very important Buddhist temples who had that name. I refined my search and found out that it was a Shia name but we are Sunni. For awhile I thought no I can't use this name because the meaning is so uncertain, the problem is that no other name seems to "fit" my baby.
Well, after my MIL liked it we decided that we would ask some religious leaders what they thought of the name to be certain on the meaning. I tried asking this website where religious leaders answer questions. I saw that other people had asked them about the meaning of names and stuff but they emailed me back and said that it is a Social question and they don't answer those. They did give me the email of someone else to ask though. I emailed them but I am still waiting to hear back from them. It said that it could take up to 3 days. I feel like 3 days is a million years away right now. KWIM? I just want to know the real meaning and get a name for my baby soon! Especially since there is only 1 week left until the third trimester!
I haven't posted any pictures lately - I will soon though!
