Wow it is has been a long time since I posted here... I didn't realize how long it had really been! So much has happened since then.
In mid-August we left from El Paso and headed off to Georgia. I was planning to drive the whole way but dh was having trouble driving the Uhaul so when we got to San Antonio we had to change our plans. To top it off we ended up wasting a day there. One of our good friends decided to help us out with driving the truck so dh took off in my car and drove straight through and then in the morning our friend took the Uhaul and drove straight through and met up with my dh. Dh left me in San Antonio so I had to catch a flight to Savannah. The morning I left I had pretty bad nausea and to top it off security gave me trouble at the airport. They told me "You are wearing too many clothes so we are going to have to pat you down." What they should have told me is "You are wearing and Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi style dress so we are going to pat you down." Well, the lady was patting me down and she kept telling me I can't let you go because the left side of your bra is thicker than the right side. WTF! If it is thicker go talk to the company not me! Since I wasn't feeling good and I was getting hassled I was crying and she still didn't even stop it. When I got to Savannah I couldn't have been happier! Security was rude, the plane seats were uncomfortable, the plane was too cold and I wasn't able to get up to use the bathroom...
Once we got to Georgia we had to wait forever for the different utilities to be turned on. Electricity took a week, house phone took 3 weeks and the tv took 3 weeks. After that we had to unpack everything. Being pregnant it is really hard to unpack since I can't lift anything too heavy. We still have 8 or so boxes to unpack but we are not sure what we are going to do with those things... They are office files of class work that we want to keep, bank records, cc records, etc. I guess we will have to buy some kind of file cabinet of the sort and put it by our bookshelves. We still haven't decided if we are going to buy a couch or not. We keep throwing around the idea of buying a used couch or a futon but we can never make up our mind. I think that both of us are worried that what if the contract is not renewed and then we have to move in the summer... What will we do with everything. It was hell moving this time just to repeat it again???
Ramadan is now over too. It started on Sept 1 and ended on Sept 30. We had three days of Eid which is like Christmas. The first day we had a small get together in the morning and then I spent the day with a new friend. The second day I was invited to a party but I was so anxious about my dr's apt the next day I didn't go. Then on the third day we had a potluck at one person's house - this was after my dr's apt. (See below for details.) Anyways at that party we were sitting on the floor, there were so many people, it was so hot, and I was in so much pain and was already feeling like shit. Before it even got started I was already ready to leave. I had actually debated going because of the way I felt but I thought Eid is just 2 times per year so I'll go. Well, once we started to eat I just picked at my food and nothing seemed to taste good. I decided to just throw it away and be done with it. Well, one old lady at the party saw that I threw it away and then she had to make a big deal of all the food she thought that I wasted. Well that was enough to send me to the end. I got up and left crying and dh said let's just go. On Saturday we had a party at my house and it was great. We had a lot of people and a lot of food. It was fun and very enjoyable. Also, we talked to dh's family every night that week. They were to have a family meeting to decide what name they like for our baby. They couldn't decide so my MIL promised that we would have a name this week. I was so excited to get it last week and when they didn't have a name I started crying. Dh of course had to tell her that I was crying. I cried even more then because I felt embarrassed. Oh well... Hopefully we will call tonight for the name. I am tired of my baby being nameless...
We haven't bought very many things for the baby yet. I don't think that anyone will be throwing me a baby shower so that makes it a little more difficult. Since I just moved I don't know anyone well enough for them to do that and my family all lives in PA. (They are exactly thrilled about my baby anyways...) Anyhow, what I did was take those registry lists the stores have and used them as a basis to make a registry "shopping list." I had stuff at Walmart, Target, and BRU. One of our friends gave us a BRU GC right before we left Texas so I used that to buy most of the things on the registry. The rest was only $50 so I bought it all. I think that I have some sheets there but I am thinking of getting other sheets. So, now, basically all I have is at Walmart and Target. I have moved most things to Walmart because we have a Walmart and I can do that ship to store for free. I have a Target GC my husband's boss gave us when we left so I am planning to buy some of the things on there with that. I really need to get my butt in gear though because I keep having nesting urges and end up in tears because I feel that nothing is going to be ready for my baby... There is only 100 days left so the pressure is on. I am rethinking my crib choice right now though. I have one picked out but the company recently went under so I think I probably shouldn't buy that one anymore. I have a list of 10 I am going to search for and compare prices and reviews and go from there.
Other than that, baby is doing fine. I had a dr's apt on Sept. 5th. The new dr is really nice. The U/S tech I had that day was awesome too. We got to see the baby for awhile and got a ton of pictures. Also, that day we found out that it is a boy! I had my second dr's apt on Oct 3rd. I had to do my GTT test. I had to fast from midnight and then I went in. They checked my urine and then did a sugar prick. My sugar was 84 to start out with. Then I had to drink that orange crap and as soon as I finished it my day went down the drain. From there I went for the U/S and the tech was rude, had a bad attitude, and was very rough! My belly hurt when she was done. We didn't get to see him much and we didn't get any good pictures from her either. The good thing was that he was head down. Oh when the lady was finished she didn't even help me off of the table and since then I have been having trouble with sciatic nerve pain on the left side. Also that day my dr only saw me for exactly 1 minute. By the time I left the office I was starving, felt moody and upset, and overall felt like shit. We went to Hobby Lobby and I couldn't even do what I wanted to there because I couldn't walk. I ended up coming home and taking a 4 hour nap to just feel worse...Then it was off to a party...
My next apt is on Oct 31. I will be right around 30 weeks at that time. They have to do another U/S at that apt to check the face of the baby for clef lip/pallet. I am not sure what else they will do at that apt. Right now I am waiting to see if they call about my sugar. They told me no news is good news but how long I should wait is the question. Also, right now I am on super antibiotics. I had a spider bite on my thumb and the dr thinks that it has a stap infection now. I have to take this big red pills 3x a day. Every time I take one I end up taking a 3hr nap. I hope it works! My thumb looks disgusting!
Well, the bathroom is calling me as well as the refrigerator so I am going to run... I am going to try to post at least once a week now. No more being lazy!
