Well, time is flying by so quickly I can't believe how far we have come already. Now I am in my 8th month and there are only 64 days left. The worst part is that I know the rest of the year is going to pass by even quicker. In 2 weeks it is Thanksgiving and dh has the whole week off actually 10 days off! (I am excited for that though.) Then after Thanksgiving there are 2 weeks of dh's work left and that includes giving his student's their final exam. Then there is 2 weeks until Christmas and then 2 weeks until New Year's and then 2 weeks until I am due. I thought that once I was pregnant the 2 weeks waits would be over but apparently not! lol... Even now I have 2 week appointments. (They started around 26 weeks and will go until 32 weeks). Yikes that this week! Well, I guess I will be onto weekly appointments soon!
I had to get some more maternity tops to wear. I shopped at Old Navy online and got them for $3.99 and $5.99. I also got 2 sweaters and a coat. I wasn't going to get a coat, but the weather here has proven to be quite unpredictable. One day it is in the 70's then next in the 50's and the nights are always in the 30's. I got it on sale though and I will use it in the future.
Also, all of the baby things that I had ordered before have finally arrived except for the baby monitor. I thought that it would be here by now but Target says that it will ship by Nov. 14th, which is tomorrow, so hopefully it won't be too long now. I need to get dh to take the baby dresser/changing table upstairs so I can put it together and get the nursery done. I was going to keep my rocker upstairs in the baby's room but since we don't have any furniture in the living room I decided to keep in there. Who wants to go upstairs to breastfeed? Anyways that leaves a lot more room in the nursery than I had planned for so I think that dh and I are going to get a fold up type of mattress that we can use for guests. We also have one in the living room, but if everything goes as planned and my MIL is able to come she will need someplace to sleep so that would be great for her. While she is here we will just have him sleep with us. Dh hasn't said much about this but that is my plan and hopefully he will agree...
Oh I almost forgot - We finally choose a first name about 2 weeks ago but this week we have finally finalized his middle name so our son has his full name now!
Drum roll please?

...
Nasif Karim Ahmed
We both like both of these names and had tossed them around but not together. I went back to all of our lists and both names have been there since the beginning. I don't know why we didn't consider it sooner!
Nasif means "Just one or Fair one"
Karim means "Generous one" and is also dh's middle name and dh's grandpa's name.
Also, at my last dr's apt. I saw the nurse practitioner but she was really nice and both dh and I enjoyed talking with her. At my last appointment they did the usual urine tests, weight, and blood pressure. Also, they did a finger stick for sugar levels. They told me that I basically passed my three hour and so they weren't considering me to have gestational diabetes. My fasting level was 100 which is good. The 1 hr check was 198 and it was to be below 190. The 2 hr check was 134 and the 3 hour check was 67 which was almost hypoglycemic. What they did is tell me that at every appointment I will have to do a finger stick to check the sugar level and then they gave me a 2000 cal diet to follow. I took my food log and showed the NP and she said that I am eating exceptionally well so she is not worried about what I am eating. She told me to keep going the way that I am going. Also, I asked the NP about the 3D so she let us try and we got some cute pictures of Nasif even a few face shots, no side profiles but hey - he is a cutie! He has his dad's nose! lol...
Other than that I can tell that Nasif's is running out of room now. His movements are quite different. Before there was very noticeable kicks and punches but now his movements are more subtle and tend to rock my whole belly. Dh gets a kick out of watching and feeling them now. He keeps telling me that it is like I have an alien in my belly that is trying to break out. lol... The past week I have had intense itching too. I haven't been able to figure out if it is just my super sensitive allergic skin or what it is. There is no rash or anything but it is so itchy sometimes I have a hard time stopping myself from scratching. Also, lotion doesn't really seem to help. I have tried cocoa butter, jerkins, bath and body works, dove, and nothing helps but for maybe 5 seconds. Also, I have scratched some areas open and others look like the blood has been drawn to the surface but I haven't broken the skin open yet. I am going to ask tomorrow at my dr's apt. At my last apt too Nasif was measuring on the skinny side - 2lbs 11oz and he was to be a little more than 3 lbs. I am wondering if we are going through a growing spurt now though because the past three days I have done nothing really other than sleeping - about 17 hrs a day. Yesterday and this morning I also had a migraine headache but thankfully it has retreated now. I know that I am not going to get an U/S at this apt. - I wish that I was because I really want to know if Nasif is head down yet or not. I think that he has turned because his movements are at the top and bottom of my uterus and they were on the sides. I just hope that he isn't breech! If he is I am going to find an acupuncturist so they can turn him.
We had our first baby class last Saturday. It was baby basics and breastfeeding. The baby basics class was very interesting but the breastfeeding class was kind of boring. Tonight we have our next series of classes 2 hrs a night for 3 weeks on Thursday's. I am excited to see tonight's class it is labor class. On that note, I am going to go get some lunch and start working on dinner so that we can eat as soon as dh is home.
See ya...
